Our Purpose

These Comanche Academy students deserve a stable home in the form of a permanent state-of-the-art school. The Turetii Haniʔaiku Foundation is dedicated to making this a reality. We were created to invest in the lives of the children of the Comanche Academy Charter School, build them a new school, support their educational needs, and empower them to celebrate their culture and become community leaders.

Comanche Academy was established to foster fluency in the Comanche language, educate students within a framework of Comanche culture, and reclaim educational sovereignty for the Comanche tribe.
In its inaugural year, the academy opened with Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade, with plans to introduce new grade levels annually. Initially, the Academy began in a school building on Taft Ave, however, this facility posed significant challenges due to mold and asbestos issues. Undeterred, the dedicated teachers continued their mission and secured a new semi-permanent bungalow school on Comanche land.
Currently serving students from Pre-K through 4th grade, the school is experiencing space constraints and is projected to outgrow its current facilities by this year.
